The 3rd meeting of the Scottish MX5 Cup took place this weekend. It was perfect conditions all day with the rain while threatening to appear stayed away all day. For the second meeting this year a new racer made their debut in the MX5 Cup. With Ian Crehan taking part in his first race meeting in the No. 34 car. Although he made a few trips too the grass over the day he got through the day with no issues and finished the second race in 3rd. Thoroughly enjoying the whole day. Qualifying finished with Olly Ross leading the way ahead of Michael Kelly, Ian Crehan and David Smail. The first race finished in a similar order with Olly taking the win ahead of a hard chasing Michael. David took third following two spins from Ian in his first race. In the second race Michael managed to overturn Olly to take his first race win. While Ian managed to keep it on the track and finish third ahead of David. All drivers are looking forward to the next meeting on July 19th where hopefully the grid will continue to grow. Find the current championship standings here. |
